I waited until the first snow and the cold snap to release this piece! It was shot last year in Utah by Emvy Visuals during the holiday and then we grabbed the dunes shot plus END OF THE WORLD back in March. It was fun to go from sand to snow in the cutting process. This song was written and recorded during a hurricane in Merida, Mexico! This is a song I wrote literally from a dream. The chorus I heard so clearly and knew I had to not only write it but produce it for my album Odyssee which released to the world 11.11.22 Island of Isles is the story of US, of humanity being divinely guided by unseen powers. Aydra and Emvy are thrilled to release a short film/music video for their last track from Maya, Bloodflow along with secret song, Illusions. PLEASE SCROLL PAST DESCRIPTION FOR LYRICS Maya was released independently in June of 2019. Now in June of 2022 the duo prepares for their 3'rd album, Odyssey, set to be available worldwide in July. Bloodflow was an original piece Emvy brought Aydra in 2018 and makes reference to Wild Rose, a campsite they camped and created at in Death Valley while scouting for their video, Angel Army. A beautifully crafted guitar melody inspired the lyrics and structure that Aydra wrote while in Joshua Tree National Park with Emvy on a picnic. The song begins gently and by design rises into a rock-driven climax that brings Aydra's higher and braver range out and works in tandem with Emvys peaking guitar note. It was infamously performed multiple times in their circus shows at the BigTop in Joshua Tree with performers Zircon and Wish on aerial silks. . . . Towards the end of production for Maya, Aydra sparked the idea to write a song about the meaning of the album, and Illusions was born which points to the Maya; Illusions played by Gods and Demons on humanity in effort to attain power. It was done in one take by Aydra on the keys and effected by Emvy with a vodecoder. The session took no more that 20 minutes to complete. The songs carries an eerie yet beautiful message of how we take reality to be true when really we are participating in a wonderful display of holographic protons and atoms giving us the impression this life and all the illusions around us are REAL and absolute. In fact may it be more believable we're merely participating in a cosmic play or theater, and we can truly create it to be anyway we like while crafting solutions to the challenges we all face. Bloodflow alternately pays homage to angels in our life that are like our 'kin' and keep us in the flow and now. Whether they be in-body/on-earth or elsewhere (higher dimensions), we must keep ourselves free of fear, open to other realms and remember, death is natural and eventually we all face our mortality. Illusions also plays on the capitalistic structure that binds us to believing our stories (and 'theirs') and that in life we must compete to achieve and survive. It's a plea to remember this is illusionary, you may be being played a trick on so stay childlike and know you too can play on these illusions and do. Now is the time to throwout these dogmas and break the walls the confine us to limited thinking and believing anyone deserves any less than the next. It's time to break the mirror and see that this is a game, ego/money is not the goal, but rather self-love and beauty that can be shared and cherished by all, endlessly to serve humanity. This energy or chi literally ripples and flows through all things.
